Mark Carney is arguably the most right-wing Liberal Prime Minister in Canada’s history, yet his polling numbers put him in the stratosphere.
Mark Carney is obsessed with oil and gas development. If his latest announced initiative, Pacific Link, comes to fruition, global oil consumption will increase by one million barrels per day
Mark Carney to date refuses to raise taxes on those who are undertaxed – the overly profitable corporations and the Canadian ‘high rollers’ who are in the top tax bracket.
Mark Carney’s responses have been weak about Trump’s extra-judicial actions in Venezuela, including the bombing deaths of fishers, off the Venezuelan coast.
Mark Carney has said not a word about Trump’s sanctioning of a Canadian judge on the International Criminal Court (ICC) and has simply reiterated Canada’s support for the court despite continued U.S. pressures and threats to dismantle it.
Mark Carney did speak up when Trump launched his illegal war on Iran –illegal because under international law, a country can only attack another if is about to be attacked by that country or if the Security Council authorizes the attack.
Yes, Mark Carney spoke up but IN FAVOUR.
Mark Carney is arguably Stephen Harper but with far better communication skills.
In spite of Carney’s clearly conservative leanings, the latest Liaison Strategies poll shows an amazing 46% support for the Liberals compared to a low 28% for the Conservatives – an overwhelming 18% lead. Carney himself is favoured by an unbelievable 68% of Canadians. Pierre Poilievre is in the basement with only a 34% favourability rating, compared to 53% having an unfavourable view.
One can only hope that prior to the next federal election, Mark Carney remembers that he’s a Liberal and that his polling numbers come back down to earth.
In the meantime, we have a wolf in sheep’s clothing as Prime Minister.
