As Israel continues its relentless aerial bombardment of the defenseless population of Gaza, the death toll continues to grow at a horrifying rate.
Since commencing its attack on Gaza, Israel has killed over 11,100 individuals. Over 4,600 of the dead were children. Women and children make up 67% of reported fatalities.
Every part of Gaza’s densely populated society is collapsing.
The United Nations reports that as of November 8th:
- On top of the deaths, almost 27,000 people have been injured.
- Over 40,000 housing units have been destroyed, with another more than 220,000 partially damaged.
- There is 92% less water consumption than before hostilities. Most of the 65 sewage pumping stations are not operational.
- Over 51% of Gaza’s education facilities have been hit.
- Over two-thirds of hospitals and two-thirds of primary care are shut down.
Israel is increasingly attacking hospitals and other civilian buildings. On Wednesday November 15th, Israeli ground forces battling Hamas entered Gaza’s al-Shifa hospital – the largest in Gaza — where thousands of Palestinians remain trapped. The hospital has no electricity, water, or food. To date, 179 have been buried in a mass grave on the hospital grounds, including seven babies and 29 intensive care patients who have died since the hospital’s generator ran out of fuel on November 11th. Over 100 more decomposing bodies remain in the hospital compound.
Israel’s vicious attacks on the population of Gaza is a war crime.
