COPE firebrand Tim Louis launches a political comeback | The Straight
On Thursday, October 27th, 2011 The Straight published a feature cover story on Tim Louis, an at-length interview with the 2011 COPE candidate for Vancouver City Council. In the feature-length interview, conducted by The Straight's Editor, Charlie Smith, Tim talks about the key issues that he'll address as a Vancouver City Councillor should the citizens who cast a ballot for him on Saturday, November 19th succeed in electing him to municipal office. Tim Louis hopes to expand discounted transit passes | The Vancouver Sun
In this October 24, 2011 article in the The Vancouver Sun, COPE candidate for Vancouver City Council Tim Louis proposed to expand discounted transit passes beyond the city's university students if a COPE team is elected to Vancouver City Council. Calling on Translink to implement a Community Pass, or C-Pass, programme, the C-Pass that would be available to neighbourhood groups, who would be afforded the opportunity to purchase discounted bus passes, thus decreasing the cost of transit for participating neighbourhoods while increasing the number of residents taking public transit. Tim Louis pushes for expansion of bus service on Vancouver routes | The Straight
Tim Louis wants to see larger express buses studied as an option for expanding transit service on Vancouver's busy Broadway corridor. In this October 17, 2011 article in The Straight, COPE candidate for Vancouver City Council also calls for a freeze on bus fares, Translink purchase of double-articulated buses, and a traffic light control system that would ensure buses can clear intersections before the light turns.
