The following individuals endorse Tim Louis' bid for a seat Vancouver City Council:

Catherine Welsh
Employed by SPARC BC / Parking Permit Program for People with Disabilities
Long time COPE member/community social justice advocate/antiwar activist
I have known Tim for over 15 years now as we used to share neighbouring offices in Kitsilano, and then again when we were at 10th and Main. I know him as well through through our many friends at COPE and community based groups and meetings. Tim is a quick witted, knowledgeable and thoughtful person. His ethics and ideals have allowed him to represent the people who need it the most. He always has time for a chat, and is a wonderful speaker. He is someone whose arguments and judgements are always sound and he was excellent in the time he was on City Council.

I find Tim to be quite a phenomenal person and put him at the very top of my list, as the person to vote for in the upcoming municipal election. He will stand up to the opposition and corporate developers who are making Vancouver incredibly out of reach for those who are not wealthy. He will set priorities that endeavour to make a clean, healthy livable city, where no one sleeps on the streets. Tim will bring back accountability at City Hall and help make Vancouver a place one can be proud of to live in again.

"Tim has devoted his professional and personal life to working for justice and equality. As a lawyer, a City Councillor and as a community member, Tim has proven himself to be an extraordinarily effective advocate for decency, dignity and fairness. He has founded and inspired the development of many services and organizations without which Vancouver would be a much poorer place, including the Public Interest Advocacy Centre, HandyDART, and the BC Coalition of People with Disabilities. We need Tim Louis as a member of City Council — now more than ever. Please join me in supporting Tim's election campaign."
- Gail Davidson -

Jim Deva
Owner, Little Sister's Book and Art Emporium
"Tim has managed to retain his strong political beliefs and, most importantly, his integrity, and still remain politically active and viable. Nothing would make me happier than to see Tim back where the city so desperately needs him, at City Council fighting for the people and the issues that are so easily compromised in this fast-paced, anything-for-a-buck world."
- Jim Deva -

Peter Prontzos

Phil Le Good
Community Advocate
Member, Building Trades Union, UA170

"Tim is a principled person. As a Councillor faced with difficult decisions, Tim always placed community and neighbourhood values ahead of self-interest. In his previous terms as a COPE Councillor in the City of Vancouver, Tim represented those whose voices are rarely heard and are always discounted. In an era of greed, unaffordable housing, and circuses before bread, a voice like Tim's is needed back in City Hall."
- Phil Le Good -

Dr. Fred Bass

"Tim's thoughtful and principled examination of every issue that came before City Council makes his voice one that is much needed on the 2011 - 2014 Vancouver City Council."
- Dr. Fred Bass -

Alicia Barsallo
Community activist
Vancouver Kingsway
"Tim Louis is a rare politician. His politics are rooted in a sharp understanding of reality. But with him, it is causes that resonate first. Principles are important. Tim knows exactly where things are at, but he also knows what is possible. After several years of knowing Tim and his fight to make the city livable for us all, I am one of the many who view him as brilliant, receptive, supportive, and fearless. He is the kind of politician who befriends the disadvantaged and challenges the financially powerful. He is strong, and has a courage that inspires. Tim is no one else's but ours. We need him on City Council."
- Alicia Barsallo -

"Guts, integrity, courage ... we need Tim Louis' strong, progressive voice on Vancouver City Council. Empowering the powerless, challenging the powerful, committed to equality and respect for our environment, working for real change. Tim has a global vision and deep local roots. I hope he is part of a great COPE presence on Council, School Board and Parks Board."
- Svend Robinson -

Anita Romaniuk
COPE Parks Commissioner, 2002-2005
"As a member of COPE's Parks Committee, I had the honour of caucusing with Tim during his second term on Park Board, and I learned a lot from him. Tim has both smarts and integrity, and we need him back on Council."
- Anita Romaniuk -

Sid Tan
COPE-Green candidate for Vancouver City Council, 1999
"I'm supporting Tim because he is hard-working and he looks at details - he is a harsh critic of those who would try and profit at the expense of the people and their business. More importantly, Tim has always been principled and pragmatic. Tim supports people and their power. I am proud to be supporting Tim Louis to be a COPE candidate for City Council."
- Sid Tan -

Assefa Kebede
Owner and chef, Nyala restaurant
A local fixture for the past 26 years in Vancouver
"I support Tim because of his strong ability to work with people in society who need help - those whose voices are not the first to be heard. Tim has a good sense of what needs to be done to build a community with a sense of well-being. Tim's strong support of community groups - in arts, music and local festivals, means we need Tim back on Council."
- Assefa Kebede -

Mel Lehan
NDP candidate, Vancouver Point Grey, 2005 + 2008
Respected community activist
"Tim cares! During his first year at law school, Tim co-founded Pacific Transit Cooperative - Vancouver's HandyDART system. As well, he helped found PIAC - the Public Interest Advocacy Centre. This is a non-profit public interest law office representing groups that would otherwise not have the resources to assert their interests. Tim gets things done!"
- Mel Lehan -

Gordon Flett
Newspaper production worker, union activist
Kitsilano
"Over the years that I've been going out to picket lines in Vancouver there is one person I've noticed that always seems to show up and lend his heartfelt support to the workers, and that person is Tim Louis. I noticed too, that it meant a lot to them when Tim was also a member of City Council, that this made his support even more special. Tim is someone who is always ready to lend a hand to those engaged in struggle, any who are less fortunate and need help, anyone suffering from injustice. He tries to make things right for them. We need Tim Louis back on Vancouver City Council, to try and make things right again for all of us."
- Gordon Flett -

J. B. Shayne
Retired broadcaster
West End
"The role Tim has played as a member of the Parks Board, and as a member of City Council helped to transform Vancouver into a more livable city for all of us. In the coming years, we will need Tim's clarion voice to be heard as a member of Vancouver City Council, particularly if the citizens of Vancouver choose to re-elect a Vision Vancouver, or an NPA majority. Someone on Council will have to hold the majority Council's feet to the fire. That person is Tim Louis. Go get 'em, Tim."
- J. B. Shayne -

Dr. Christopher Shaw
Assistant Professor, Ophthalmology, Physiology, and Experimental Medicine
University of British Columbia
Candidate, De-Growth Vancouver
"Tim Louis is one of Vancouver's most progressive and committed social activists. At a time when both the NPA and Vision seem firmly in the pocket of the City's developers, we need a person of courage and conviction on City Council to fight for ordinary Vancouverites. Tim Louis is that person."
- Dr. Christopher Shaw -

Raymond Tomlin
Chairperson, HEU Local; mental health worker, Downtown Eastside
Vancouver Point Grey
"From holding the line on taxes when Finance Committee Chair on the COPE Council, from 2002 to 2005, to his role in the creation of HandyDART and his continued involvement in transportation issues, from his advocacy for the poor and most vulnerable in our City, and for his continued work for social justice and a better life for us all, come this November 19th, I would ask that you Save a Vote for Tim Louis for Vancouver City Council. I can't imagine voting for a better representative and anyone more deserving of a seat on Vancouver City Council than Tim Louis."
- Raymond Tomlin -

Karen Chrysler
Instructor Northwest Community College
Terrace BC
"I have known Tim Louis as a friend since 1972. I can speak to his personal character. He is an ethical and principled man. He is a man who understands the value of a promise - if he says he will do it, he will do it. He follows through on his obligations and commitments. These values are sorely needed at City Hall. I may not always 100% agree with him but I always know where he stands. This is a relief in a politician, who typically change their views along with their clothes for the day."
